  • Safe Cosmetics Australia is an independent, not-for-profit organisation. Our mission is to raise chemical awareness. Advocating for a pre-market regulatory scheme, The Toxic-Free Campaign addresses two key areas of hazardous chemical use found in cosmetics and home cleaning products. We help protect your health by campaigning for a healthier future and certifying brands that minimise your exposure to harmful chemicals.
  • Honors & Awards
  • Safe Cosmetics Australia [SCA] has pioneered the nontoxic certification screening process. We offer two certification seals. Verifying product formulations that are free from toxic chemicals, deemed safe and nontoxic. Companies have submitted their product formulations to be vetted by an independent third party, ensuring that none of the stated ingredients are known to cause harm to human health or the environment. Our goal is to eliminate the use of known toxic chemicals from Australian products, to change the way products are made, to create a sustainable and healthy future.

More About Safe Cosmetics Australia

Safe Cosmetics Australia [SCA] screens product ingredients against our toxicant database of known harmful chemicals consisting of chemicals found on scientific authoritative lists, from international organisations and agencies. We make it easy for people to find products that are made without known toxic chemicals. SCA offers toxic-free guidelines for brands that wish to adopt the toxic-free approach to producing safer products. SCA's certification seal makes it easy for consumers and retailers to select products that aren’t known to cause harm to human health. Ultimately Safe Cosmetics Australia aims to eliminate the use of all toxic chemicals found in Australian products, see KEY ISSUES to learn more about the top offending chemicals.
